Tuesday May 10th the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors are scheduled to discuss the proposed Urgency Ordinance to regulate cannabis cultivation. The meeting will be held at the Government Center in the Supervisors Chambers. 891 Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas. The meeting begins at 8 am, the Urgency Ordinance will be discussed at 1:30pm.

Please attend the February 16 BOS meeting at the San Andreas Town Hall at 10am. This is a special session meeting dedicated solely to discussing cannabis policy in the county.

CCA Update-

The meeting at the town hall on Wednesday went really well. Turnout was high, and it seemed like the majority of attendees were comforted with the information they heard. That said, there is one issue we would like to address that we failed to discuss at the meeting.

After checking in with some attendees, we were told that there were some who were disappointed that we had not specifically addressed some of the issues brought about by the passage of the 266 package. These new state laws appear to contain certain requirements that cultivators will have to meet in order to continue to participate in the industry. We did not address any of these specific requirements at our meeting.

We had good attendance at last night’s meeting, and we need to bring you up to speed on what is happening in the next week.

The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors (BOS) is due to meet on Tuesday, December 22nd for a study session on a new cannabis ordinance. During this session, the BOS will be hearing public comment and giving direction to county council on the ordinance they would like drafted. While we believe that the intention of the BOS is to draft a sensible policy, it is a fact that they will be considering a ban of outdoor cultivation.
